Meet our Executive Director
Kitty grew up in Centerville, Indiana and graduated from Ball State University with an Associate Degree in Dietetic Technology. Working in the dietetics field for twelve years, she gained experience in food service in the field of long-term healthcare. She also gained a great deal of experience in community nutrition while acting as Director of Nutrition for a congregate and homebound meal program.
After several years of gaining practical experience, she went back to college and earned a Master’s degree in Dietetics. Kitty has worked as a registered dietitian for the past seventeen years.
Kitty has also worked in various healthcare settings such as diabetes education, nutrition education, and hospice nutrition. She currently owns her own consulting business where she work primarily with people who are developmentally disabled in their group homes. Dietetics has given her a wealth of opportunities to provide nutrition care for individuals across the health care continuum.
Through her experience as a registered dietitian, she has seen firsthand the effects of food insecurity on the health of individuals. With this knowledge and personal experience, Kitty brings her passion for reducing food insecurity, poverty, and social injustice in the greater Indianapolis community to her role as visionary of Helpings of Hope.
