Meet the Helpings of Hope Vice-President
Karen L. Porter is the President of KLPorter Strategic Solutions, LLC, a consulting company focused on helping clients be successful today while challenging them to transform to improve the health system of the future. Porter is an experienced senior healthcare executive with a unique background. She uses her experience in clinical operations, provider relationship development, health system planning and strategy implementation to assist non-profit organizations in developing and executing on their Vision to serve their communities by achieving measurable outcomes. Prior to starting KLPorter Strategic Solutions, LLC, Karen served as the System Vice President and Chief Planning Officer for St. Vincent, one of the largest multi-facility health systems located across Indiana. Karen’s ability to develop relationships has made her a trusted advisor and resulted in long-term engagements with a variety of organizations.
Porter serves as adjunct faculty at Indiana University Purdue University’s Fairbanks School of Public Health teaching and serving as an executive consultant in the Executive Education division. Porter graduated summa cum laude from Indiana Wesleyan University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration. Prior to that, she received her Associate of Science degree in Radiologic Technology from Marian College (now Marian University).
Porter is committed to community service. She works closely with the Goodwill of Central and Southern Indiana Nurse-Family Partnership and serves on their Community Advisory Board. In addition, she serves as the Vice Chair on the Helpings of Hope Board of Directors and is a member of the Sisters of Providence Mission Advisory Board.
