We’re thrilled to announce that our very first Satellite Farm is opening in mid-May at the Boner Fitness & Learning Center!
This marks a big milestone for Helpings of Hope. Launching a Satellite Farm was one of our 2025 program goals, and we’re honored to be the Center’s urban farm provider.
Located on Indy’s Near Eastside, the John Boner Neighborhood Centers (JBNC) empower our neighbors with free fitness classes for members, senior programming, and health insurance assistance. JBNC helps our local communities be healthy and strong, and we’re excited to add fresh produce to the mix.

Left to Right: Nana Bimba, Lead Farm Assistant, Helpings of Hope, Nate Dungi, Farm Manager, Helpings of Hope, Kitty Beckman, Executive Director, Helpings of Hope.
Our new farm will feature 39 raised beds, a large greenhouse, a walk-in cooler, and free Community Garden Plots where neighbors can grow their own vegetables. We’ll grow tomatoes, peppers, and other community-requested crops, and we’d love your help!
Here’s How You Can Get Involved:
Volunteer as a Group (10–20 People, Ages 12+): Join us on Mondays, Wednesdays, or Fridays between 10AM and 5PM to help plant, harvest, and care for the space.
Grow Your Own Food at No Cost: Reserve a Community Garden Plot and enjoy fresh produce all season long.
To sign up to volunteer or request a garden plot, email us at info@helpingsofhopeindy.org.
Terri Bailey, JBNC’s Chief Operating Officer, told us how eager they are to get the farm growing, and we couldn’t agree more. This is about neighbors feeding neighbors, and we’re grateful to be part of it.
Thank you for supporting our mission to bring fresh, local food to communities living in food deserts. We can’t wait to grow more produce with you this year.
